Standard / Blaupunkt

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which radios were fitted to each Ypsilon generation?
The Lancia Y (1995 to 2003) has older units with the serial on the casing label. The Ypsilon 843 (2003 to 2011) often has a Blaupunkt radio with a BP serial, and some cars have Continental units. The Ypsilon 846 (from 2011) has Continental units with an A2C or A3C serial, Daiichi units with a short serial and, on later cars, a radio branded Radio by Mopar. For the Musa, Delta and other models, see Lancia radio codes.
How do I recover the radio code for my Ypsilon?
Take the radio out and read the serial on the sticker on its casing. The serial is not shown on the screen. Enter that serial when you order and we decode the code that belongs to your unit. You do not need the car documents or the original paperwork.
What does an Ypsilon radio serial look like?
A Daiichi serial is only 5 digits, for example 04081. Blaupunkt serials are BP followed by 12 digits, such as BP237534082298. Continental serials start A2C or A3C followed by a long string of digits. Enter the full serial exactly as printed, including any letters at the start.
What is the Radio by Mopar in my Ypsilon?
It is the radio fitted to later Ypsilon 846 cars, sold under the Mopar name. It is a Continental unit, so the serial on its label usually starts A2C or A3C and the code is decoded in the same way as other Continental radios.
How fast will I get my Ypsilon code?
Daiichi units with a 5 digit serial are decoded instantly. Blaupunkt and Continental codes are usually sent by email within 60 minutes of ordering.
The radio in my Ypsilon came from another car. Can you still decode it?
Yes. The code is tied to the radio, not the car, so read the serial from the unit that is fitted now. Lancia and Fiat share many of the same radios, so a Fiat unit fitted to an Ypsilon is decoded normally from its own label.
The radio will not accept a code after several attempts. What now?
After several wrong codes the radio blocks entry for a while. Leave the ignition and the radio switched on until the display lets you enter a code again, which can take from 30 minutes to about 2 hours. Then enter the code from your serial once, slowly.
