FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Why is my Fiat 500 radio asking for a code?
The radio locked itself when it lost power. A flat battery, a battery change or a garage service are the usual triggers on the 500, especially cars that do short city runs. It is an anti-theft feature and the code is the only way back in.
Which radio does the 500 have?
It varies by year and trim. Check the first characters of the serial on the unit label. BP is a Blaupunkt unit, 815CM is a Bosch unit and A2C or A3C is a Continental unit. A short bare number of 4 or 5 digits is a Daiichi unit. All of them are covered here.
Where do I find the serial on a Fiat 500 radio?
On the label on the top or side of the radio casing, so the unit needs to slide out. Release keys or a plastic trim tool make it a two minute job and no wires need to be disconnected. The guide above shows exactly what to look for.
How do I enter the code once I have it?
Turn the ignition on and the radio shows CODE or dashes. Press preset button 1 repeatedly for the first digit, button 2 for the second and so on, then hold the confirm button to accept. Touchscreen units simply show a keypad, type the four digits and confirm.
I bought my 500 second-hand and the code card is missing. Can you still help?
Yes, this is exactly what the service is for. The code is tied to the radio serial, not to the previous owner or any paperwork, so as long as you can read the serial from the unit we can decode it.
