FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Why is my Punto radio asking for a code?
It lost power at some point, usually a flat or disconnected battery, and the anti-theft lock activated. The radio is not broken. Enter the correct code and it works exactly as before.
My Punto is getting on a bit. Are the older radios still covered?
Yes. Punto radios from the late nineties through to the last cars are all decodable from the serial, including the little Daiichi units with a short 4 or 5 digit serial and the Blaupunkt BP units. Age makes no difference to the code.
How do I identify which unit my Punto has?
Read the start of the serial on the casing label. BP is Blaupunkt, 815CM is Bosch, A2C or A3C is Continental and a short bare number is a Daiichi. The guide above has a photo of each label style.
Where is the serial number?
On the label on the top or side of the radio casing. The unit slides out with release keys or a careful pry of the surround, no tools beyond that and no wiring to touch.
How do I enter the code?
With the ignition on, the display shows CODE or four dashes. Preset button 1 sets the first digit, button 2 the second and so on, press each one repeatedly until the right number shows, then hold the confirm button. Take it slowly, wrong attempts add a waiting period.
