FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I identify my Cherokee radio type?
Check the serial prefix on the label. T-series serials such as T00BE, TM9 and TVP types are all decoded instantly from the Chrysler database. Continental units carry a long A2C serial instead. Both are covered.
Where is the serial on a Jeep Cherokee radio?
Slide the radio out and check the label on the back or side of the unit, there is no on-screen method on these radios. The serial starts with T, or with A2C on Continental units. The two stickers sit on different faces of the casing, so check every side before deciding which you have.
How long does a Cherokee code take?
T-series serials, including TVP types, decode automatically and the code is with you within minutes. The small number of serials that need a manual check are usually emailed within the hour.
Which Cherokee generations are covered?
We cover the KJ (2001 to 2007), KK (2008 to 2012) and KL (2014 onwards). All factory-fitted radios across these generations are supported.
Why does my Jeep Cherokee radio need a code?
The radio locks itself after losing power, for example during a battery change or service. The code is unique to the unit and restores access.
What if my Cherokee radio shows LOCKED?
LOCKED means the anti-theft lock has triggered. Read the serial from the unit and enter it above to retrieve your unlock code.
