FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Why is my Ducato radio asking for a code?
The radio lost power and its anti-theft lock kicked in. On the Ducato that usually means a battery change, a starter issue or the leisure battery work that comes with motorhome life. The code is the only way back in, and once entered it stays unlocked.
My Ducato is a motorhome. Is the radio still covered?
Yes. Most UK motorhomes are built on the Ducato base vehicle, and the radio in the cab is the standard Fiat unit regardless of who built the body. Decode it from the radio serial exactly as you would on a panel van.
Which serial will my Ducato have?
Check the prefix on the unit label. BP is Blaupunkt, 815CM is Bosch and A2C or A3C is Continental. Older vans can carry a Daiichi unit with a short 4 or 5 digit serial. Enter the full serial whichever you have.
How do I get the radio out of a Ducato?
Standard DIN release keys, two in each side until the catches click, then pull the unit towards you. On some dashboards you pry the trim frame off first with a plastic tool. No wires need to come off, the serial label is on the casing.
I tried a few codes from the internet and now the radio will not accept anything.
It has locked itself after too many wrong attempts. Leave it switched on and the lockout clears on its own, typically within 30 minutes to 2 hours. Then enter the code decoded from your own serial once, slowly. Generic codes from forums will not work, every unit has its own.
