Remove the unit to find your serial
The Alpine MF2910 does not display the serial on screen u2014 you need to remove the unit to find it.

Insert PC5-132 radio release keys into the two holes at the bottom corners of the fascia. Apply gentle outward pressure until the unit slides forward. You do not need to disconnect any wires.

The serial number is on a sticker on the side or rear of the casing. It starts with AL and is 14 characters long (for example, AL 2910 Y 01 04000).

Why is my MF2910 asking for a code?
Power was cut to the unit, most often a battery change, and the anti-theft lock engaged. The code unlocks it immediately and permanently until the next power loss.
Where is the serial on the MF2910?
On the label on the unit casing, starting with AL. Slide the unit out with release keys to read it. These serials can contain spaces, include them exactly as printed.
How do I enter the code on the MF2910?
When the unit asks for the code, set each digit with the preset buttons and confirm. With the correct code it unlocks straight away.
I entered a few wrong codes already. What now?
The unit pauses entries after repeated wrong attempts. Leave it switched on and it will accept codes again, typically within 30 minutes to 2 hours. Then enter the decoded code once.
The handbook code card is long gone. Does that matter?
Not at all. The code is generated from the serial on the unit itself, the card was only a copy of it. Read the label, order, enter the code.
