In this older radio, you will need some release keys to extract the radio from the dash. This is an essential part of the process of getting your radio code. Once you have inserted the keys, the radio should be able to be pulled out. The radio's serial number will be on the label at the back of the radio or engraved into the metal.

VW Polo Mk4 (2003-2007) RCD 300
The RCD 300 will need to be removed to get your serial number for the code. You will need just a screwdriver and a prying tool for this process.
First of all, remove the cover on top of the central air vents above the radio, revealing the 2 screws. Unscrew and pry out the vents, revealing the radio's screws. Once this is done, you can remove the radio and find your serial number.

VW Polo Mk5 (2008-2014) RCD 210
For us to get the radio code for this radio, you will need to find your VWZ serial number on the back of the radio. This means removing the radio, which you can do with a screwdriver and a prying tool to remove the plastic trimming and the radio will be able to be pulled out afterward.

VW Polo Mk5 (2009-2015) RCD 310
Removing the radio for the RCD 310 is necessary for access to the VWZ serial number. It's the same process as the other radios, using a prying tool to remove the outer trim and then unscrewing the 4 screws. Watch this video guide for assistance in doing so.

VW Polo Mk 5 (2010-2015) RNS-310
This Navigation unit will need removing in order for us to get a radio code, you will need to locate the serial number on the radios label. To remove the radio, you will need a screwdriver and a prizing tool. Pull the outer trim of the radio using the tool which will uncover the screws to the radio. Unscrew them and slide the radio out. A video guide is also attached for more help.
Your VWZ serial number will have a number 7 as the 6th character.

Turn the radio on until "CODE 1000" shows on the display. On either side of the screen, use the top two buttons to input the code. For the first number press the top left preset button multiple times until the number you require appears The move the the next button down for the second digit, an "X" on the display will show which digit you are altering. Once the VW code is displayed on your radio, press the bottom right button, next to where "ENTER" is on the display
