How to find your Skoda serial number

The guide below will show you exactly where to find your Skoda radio serial number.

Use a flat-head screwdriver to carefully pry off the surrounding trim, then remove the four mounting screws and slide the unit forward. You do not need to disconnect any wires. The unit will slide far enough forward to read the label.

Pictured: the Skoda Dance and Skoda Swing, two of the most common units. The same steps apply to the Bolero, Blues and Stream.

Your serial number is on the sticker label on the casing. All Skoda serials start with SKZ and are 14 characters long, for example SKZAZ5L1562150.

Why does my Skoda radio show SAFE?
SAFE appears when the radio loses power, for example after a battery change or the battery going flat. It is a factory anti-theft lock. The radio will not work until you enter the correct 4-digit code.
What does a Skoda serial number look like?
All Skoda radio serials begin with SKZ and are 14 characters long. An example is SKZAZ5L1562150. Navigation unit serials also begin with SKZ but have the number 7 as the sixth character. The capital letter I and the digit 1 can look very similar on labels, so check carefully.
Do I need to remove my Skoda radio?
Yes. All Skoda radios require physical removal to access the serial label. You will need a flat-head screwdriver and prying tool for the trim surround. No wire disconnection is needed.
How long does delivery take?

The most common cause is a misread serial, particularly the capital letter I and the number 1. Check the label again carefully. If the serial is correct, contact us and we will recheck at no charge. All codes are guaranteed.
Do I need to disconnect the battery when removing the radio?
No. You do not need to disconnect the battery or any wires. Simply pry off the trim, unscrew the unit, slide it forward to read the serial label, then push it back in.
