How to find your Vauxhall serial number

The guide below will show you exactly where to find your Vauxhall radio serial number.

Turn on the ignition and radio. When prompted for a code, enter any incorrect 4-digit number and press OK. Repeat this three times deliberately.

After the third wrong attempt the screen locks and displays your Serial Number, Device Number and a Date. Note all three exactly as shown, you need all three to get your code.

Insert radio release keys into the four holes around the radio fascia and apply gentle outward pressure. The unit slides forward. You do not need to disconnect any wires.

The serial number is on the sticker label on the side or back of the casing.

Vauxhall Anatel (Renault radio)
Remove the radio to find your serial
Commonly found in the Vauxhall Movano and some Vivaro models. The radio unit is manufactured by Renault (Anatel) and uses a Renault-format serial number.

Remove the unit using a prying tool to release the trim surround and a Phillips screwdriver for the mounting screws. The serial number is on the sticker on the unit and starts with 2811 followed by letters and digits (for example, 281157844RTC109). Enter the full serial exactly as shown on the label.

What are the Serial Number, Device Number and Date for?
These three values are required together to generate the correct code for Vauxhall Connect and navigation units. The serial number identifies the radio hardware, the device number is a secondary identifier, and the date shown on screen is part of the verification process. You must submit all three exactly as displayed.
How long does delivery take?

Will the code work after a second battery change?
Yes. Once you purchase a code, you can reuse it every time the radio locks after a battery change. Keep the code stored safely and you will never need to pay for it again.
How do I enter the code on a standard Vauxhall radio?
Turn on the radio and wait for the code prompt. Use buttons 1, 2, 3 and 4 to cycle each digit to the correct number. Once all four digits match your code, hold button 6 for a couple of seconds to confirm and unlock the radio.
Can I get my Vauxhall radio code for free?
No calculator exists for Vauxhall or Opel units. The official route is a "Car Pass" from the parts department against your registration document and driving licence, usually within 48 hours, and the lockout wait doubles with every wrong entry.
