Screen shows anti-theft protection?
If your COMAND or Audio screen shows anti-theft protection after a battery disconnect or a used-unit swap, that is a different unlock from the radio code, it needs the 6-digit PIN written with diagnostic software. Get the Mercedes anti-theft code →

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Why does my Mercedes radio need a code?
Mercedes radios have a factory anti-theft lock that activates when power is cut. A flat battery, a battery replacement or the radio being removed will all trigger the lock. The code is unique to each individual unit.
How do I identify my Mercedes radio type?
Check the serial number prefix. AL or MF indicates an Audio 10 or Alpine unit. BE indicates a Becker unit. Comand systems are the larger navigation screens and may have a different serial format. The prefix shown on the submission form will guide you to the correct service.
How long does delivery take?
Mercedes radio codes are typically delivered by email within 60 minutes of ordering. Instant codes are available for some serial types. You will receive the code at the email address you provide at checkout.
Which Mercedes models does this cover?
We cover all Mercedes-Benz models. If your Mercedes radio is asking for a code, we can retrieve it.
Do I need to remove my Mercedes radio?
For Audio 10, Alpine and Becker units, yes. The serial is on the casing label and requires removal to access. For some Comand systems, the serial may be visible on screen.
My code does not work. What should I do?
Check the serial prefix carefully and ensure all characters are read correctly. If the serial is correct and the code fails, contact us. All codes are guaranteed. One thing to check on AL and MF serials, they can contain spaces, so include them exactly as printed on the label.
Is this service suitable for older Mercedes models?
Yes. We cover a wide range of Mercedes models and radio generations, including older Audio 10 and Alpine units.
Will the code work again after my next battery change?
Yes. The code is permanently linked to your radio and does not change. Keep it stored and you can use it every time the radio locks.
My Mercedes shows "anti-theft protection", not a code request.
That is a different code from the keypad radio code on this page. Newer COMAND and Audio 20 or 50 units lock with a 6-digit anti-theft PIN that a technician writes to the unit with diagnostic software, rather than a code you type in. You can get it on our Mercedes anti-theft code page.
