The guide below will show you exactly where to find your Audi radio serial number.

Insert the four radio release keys into the corner holes of the fascia and apply gentle outward pressure. The unit slides forward. You do not need to disconnect any wires.

The serial is on the label on the back of the casing, starts with AUZ, 14 characters (for example, AUZ2Z3C1420538).

You do not need to remove the unit. Power it on and look at the bottom of the display, the serial number appears along the bottom edge of the screen.

It starts with AUZ, is 14 characters long, and the sixth character is always 7 (for example, AUZBZ7H7145296).

Why is my Chorus asking for a code?
It lost power and the anti-theft lock activated, most often after a battery change. The Chorus is the standard Audi head unit of its era and unlocks with a 4-digit code like the rest of the range.
Where is the serial on a Chorus?
On the label on the unit casing, 14 characters starting AUZ. The Chorus does not show its serial on screen, so slide the unit out with release keys and read it off the label.
How do I enter the code on a Chorus?
Turn the ignition on and the display shows SAFE, then 1000. Press preset 1 repeatedly for the first digit, preset 2 for the second and so on, then confirm. The radio unlocks immediately with the correct code.
The display shows 2 SAFE. What does that mean?
Too many wrong codes have been entered and the unit has locked. Leave it switched on for about an hour and it returns to 1000, ready for the code again. Do not keep guessing, each wrong batch adds another wait.
Is the Chorus code the same as the one in my handbook?
If the radio is the original factory unit and the handbook card is intact, yes. If the card is missing or the radio was ever swapped, decode from the AUZ serial on the unit itself, that is always the code that matches. For any other Audi, our main Audi radio code page covers the full range.
